Paul Hadfield Contract Manager

Paul joined our business when the internal team at The Guinness Partnership was TUPE-d over to continue serving the needs of residents in over 75,000 Guinness Partnership homes across the UK. He has built a career in electrical compliance, starting out as an apprentice over 20 years ago and describing the compliance role as one you need a conscience for.

Paul’s referring to the responsibility that rests in your hands when you provide compliance services. Today as Contract Manager he oversees a team of engineers who carry out electrical, fire and security system tests and certifications,
making sure they have exactly the rights skills, information and support to complete programmes of works on time and to budget. Always with residents’ needs and safety in mind.

Regular team meetings with the senior leadership and engineers keep the system working effectively and enable any issues to be addressed promptly. But Paul confirms the business is also very trusting, giving people autonomy to make decisions, as long as you’re ready to be accountable, and also having an open door if you want any advice.

“I’ve been impressed by the friendliness of the company. It’s been very welcoming and not too corporate, so you can be yourself and share your opinions confidently.

I’m a time-served electrician so I’ve seen how things work in several places and across all departments from planned to reactive maintenance, and I like the approach here. Including the social value side of things which I’ll be getting involved with. It was a big part of the Guinness approach and I can see it’s important here too.”
