Solar street lighting columns
Essential street lighting on Poplar Road, Gillingham, is now being delivered by solar power, following the installation of four solar powered columns by Wiggett engineers.
The installation was carried out for MHS Homes, to light the pathways and steps serving 18 homes that didn’t until this installation have any street lighting.
Wiggett Group proposed the solar solution to MHS Homes, seeing the need for street lighting to keep residents safe and the imperative need for a green and energy efficient solution.
The solar columns store solar energy during daylight hours for use at night and feature photo and motion sensors, ensuring safe, well-lit pathways for residents after dark.
