Your feedback matters
We welcome feedback from residents in the places we work. It shapes how we deliver our service, with respect for you and your home and always to the highest standard.
As well as keeping residents safe and secure in their homes, we make a difference to communities in many other ways. By offering opportunities to young people through our apprenticeship programme, fundraising for charities and local community groups, and enabling residents to learn about wide-ranging subjects – from technology to managing finances, healthy eating to mental wellbeing.
Frequently Asked Questions
EICR stands for Electrical Installation Condition Report. It is a formal assessment of the fixed electrical systems in your home to ensure they are safe for continued use. One of our engineers will visit your home to carry out an inspection and report. They will check for safety issues, defects and compliance with regulatory standards. If there are any issues, immediate measures will be taken to fix them.
We do our very best to limit any disruption to your home. We will need access to certain cupboards where electrical meters and devices are stored. If you have items in these cupboards, it is sometimes necessary to remove them. When we are contracted to carry out an inspection, we advise all residents about the date and time we plan to visit your home. If this isn’t a convenient time you can reschedule using our appointment calendar.
Our engineers all have a supply of plastic shoe covers that will stop any dirt being transferred to your floors and carpet. They will also put down protective sheets if the work they are carrying out has the potential to create any dust or dirt. In some circumstances it may be necessary to move an item of furniture, which will be returned to its place once work is completed.
Awaab’s Law requires social landlords to investigate emergency hazards within 24 hours of becoming aware of them and to address them. It also requires them to investigate damp and mould issues within 10 working days and to provide a written summary to the resident within three working days. Wiggett Group engineers visit people’s homes every day, so if we see an emergency hazard – one that we can’t fix – we report it immediately, so your landlord can address it and comply with the law. Through our testing, inspection and compliance work, covering electrical, fire and security systems, we also help our clients comply with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act and Social Housing Act.
It’s really helpful if you can let us know in advance if you’re not going to be home, but we understand that sometimes things happen that mean you can’t be at home when you thought. If we visit at the scheduled time and you’re not home we’ll leave a visiting card that provides details on how to reschedule your appointment. We will also follow up with a telephone call if we don’t hear from you. It’s important we do get access to your home quickly, to make sure the electrical systems are safe and necessary repair works are carried out.
